Lady Captain Brid Finlay and Captain Paul Jenkins officially started their tenure on Saturday last in the company of club members, family and friends. Even the strong cross wind on the 1st hole did not stop both Captains from hitting the green with their Drives. Continue reading
As we all know we have two fabulous course technicians in Hugh John and Finbar and it’s not very often that they make a request of the players. They are doing a mighty job keeping the course in such tip top nick so that we can play all year round. However, despite new buggy paths being installed to keep the buggies away from the softer parts of the course, and “no go” fences being put in to re-route buggies, some buggy drivers are still driving up to the side of the greens and/or up the middle of the fairways damaging the areas. So please, if you are using a buggy, stick to the gravel pathways and drive around the re-routing fencing, otherwise we may have to consider the suspension of buggy use. Moan over.
Its that man again – Paddy Kerr – who had a hole in 1 on Monday last while playing in the Spring League Competition. Cannot hold a good man back, I understand the Handicap Secretary is taking note. Well done Paddy.
The Winner of week 2 of the Spring League Competition was George Hamilton with a great score of 38pts.

We obviously don’t have any fans of a small female Australian singer in Clones as the letters drawn on 17th February were KILY yielded no winners, so the jackpot rolls over to 3,000. The 5 lucky dippers each winning 20 were Frank O’Brien Lisnaskea, Kitty Cassidy Clones, Steven Gunn Ballinamallard, Michelle Connolly Clones (towards the wedding fund Michele) and Nuala Brown Cootehill.
The Harte Peat Spring League is now up and running with Week 1(extended) now completed, the winner of Week 1 with a whopping 40 pts is Paddy Kerr. Congrats. Paddy, that is really setting the pace for the remaining weeks of the Competition.
The letters drawn on 10th February were SWNZ no winners of the jackpot now standing at 2,900. The 5 lucky dippers each winning 20 were Joshua Rafferty Donegal, Sandra Hicks Lisnaskea, John Duffy Clones, Anne Marie Hickey Clones and Gerry Trant Clones.

The ladies Spring League started with a bang on Sunday with nearly half the players out in cold but sunny conditions (apart from the hail storm!) One excellent score was carded by Lady Vice Captain, the rest of the ladies will no doubt be on the course this week. Many thanks to Roberta for the lovely buns which awaited us when we got back to the clubhouse! Please support the 3 person (any combination) betterball in honour of the Captains starting Monday 17th February running till Saturday 22nd Drive In Day! You can play in both your league and this to honour the Captains
