Preparations are well underway for this year’s Captains Celebration night at the Creighton Hotel on Saturday 22nd November where the match play cups will be presented. Please can all holders of match play cups return them to the clubhouse as soon as possible. Thank you.
The weather wasn’t that kind to us last week however many ladies braved the elements for their teams and their efforts are to be applauded. Team 3 are leading on 146 with scores from Ann McCarthy 18, Lady Captain Brid 16 and Claire McCaffrey 14. Team 4 are only 3 points back in 2nd with 143 well done to Noeleen McCague 15, Catherine Farrell 18 and a whopping 19 from Rosita McCabe who played on Saturday morning in the freezing, pouring rain! Teams 1 and 2 are joint 3rd on 135 with scores from Teresa Fitzpatrick 14, Roberta Hamilton 17 and Vera Tighe 13 for team 1 and a humdinger of a 20 points from Veronica McGorman, Una O’Reilly 14 and 15 from Mary O’Toole for Team 2. Team 5, who thought they were a lost cause are now only 5 points behind the filed on 130 with scores from Mary Trant 18, Kathleen Leonard 16 and Doli Maguire 15. So never give up till the end!!
The letters drawn on 3rd November were from the bottom of the bag and were ASUN and we had a winner of the 3,000 jackpot!! Well done to Shaun Treacy Corner Bar, Lisnaskea! The 5 lucky dippers each winning 20 were Ann Duignan Newtownbutler Road, Martin McCarthy Ballybay, Micky McGuigan C/O Dans, Roxanne O’Harte Clones and Paul Igoe Errigal Cootehill. The jackpot now starts off at 2,000 so have a go you never know!
The men are competing in a 14 hole repeater with categories to try and win some Christmas meat vouchers. €5 to play and €3 to repeat.

Week 2 saw a fabulous 20 points from Roberta Hamilton (Team 1) but as Teresa Fitzpatrick only had 14 points and Maureen Lynch 13 it wasn’t enough to keep them in the number one spot and they slip to joint second with Team 4 on 91 points. They had scores from Noeleen McCague 15, Helen Connolly 15 and 17 from Rosita McCabe. Team 2 are 4th with 86 well done Veronica McGorman 17, Mary O’Toole 13 and Joy Cassidy 10. Team 5 are still 5th on 81 with scores from Doli Maguire 15, Kathleen Leonard 17 Mary Trant 12. So on top spot after week 2 are Team 3 with 98 points with scores from Ann McCarthy 19, Geraldine Fitzpatrick 16 and Lady Captain Brid Finlay 18. BUT it could still all change!!
The 3 club challenge was won by Roberta Hamilton with a putter, 7 iron and driver with 20 points!
The letters drawn on 27th October were hubble, bubble TOIL and trouble! But no one chose these Halloween themed letters and the jackpot rolls over to 3,000! The 5 lucky dippers each winning 20 were Margaret Connolly Connons, Aidan Lambe Magherarney, Seamus McKiernan C/O Club, Judith Duignam (again! Lucky lady!) Clones and Martha O’Grady C/O Club. Well done to them. The monthly sellers prize of €100 went to Vincent Lynch.
