Captains Day (Mr. Paddy McKeown) Prize to the Gentlemen takes place this weekend, Saturday, 3rd September. A draw for playing partners and times of play has taken place with the sheet posted in the locker room. Participants are requested to please be on time in order to facilitate the smooth running of the Competition. Presentation of all Prizes will take place on the night and you are asked to please come out in support of our very popular Captain, Paddy. We wish Paddy the very best of luck on his day.

Ladies play stableford Thursday 1st September with prizes sponsored by Teresa Fitzpatrick and the club.
The ladies competed for Paddy McKeown’s Captain’s Prize to the Ladies on Sunday in pouring rain and Thursday in beautiful sunshine. Congratulations to Rosita McCabe (12) who claimed first prize with a net 73, Mary Trant (16) came second with nett 75 and the gross went to Elaine Hamilton 92. The ladies club wish Captain Paddy and all the competitors a fabulous day on Saturday 3rd of September.
The letters drawn on 22nd August were MOJD and there was no winner of the jackpot which now stands at 4,200. The 5 lucky dippers each winning 20 were Helen Connolly Clones, Seamus McPhillips C/O Club, Deirdre & Co. Dan’s Bar, Francis Lennon Ballybay and Barry Duffy Ballybay. Well done to them!
The men play in the Dermot McGuigan Cup on Saturday 27th of August and Sunday 28th of August this is a GOY competition with the top prize for the best gross score.
Captain Paddy McKeown’s prize to the ladies is on Thursday 25th August and this is a stroke Medal DRAW GOY. This is the penultimate Golfer of the Year and it’s still close at the top! The ladies that braved Sunday’s wet and windy conditions are to be commended! Prizes are for 1st, 2nd and Gross.
It was a dry day last Thursday albeit a bit cloudy but the ladies couldn’t be tempted out for the stableford and only 9 returned scores over the 2 days of competition it therefore reverted to a sweep and congratulations to Elaine Hamilton 31 points. There is another stableford on Sunday 28th August and Thursday 1st September with prizes sponsored by Teresa Fitzpatrick and the club. We missed a big birthday last week congrats to Irene McConkey! You kept that quiet!!
