The joint club Annual General Meeting will take place on Sunday 7th of December 2014 at 5.00pm in the clubhouse. If you want your say come along. If you are not there you can’t complain about decisions made. Simple!
The final presentation night with Lady Captain Brid Finlay takes place this Thursday at 8pm (apart from the Dinner Dance of course!) The winners and runners up of the matchplay cups The Barry McGuigan for all handicaps, the Junior Cup for higher handicaps and the Rose Bowl for the low handicaps will receive their prizes on Thursday and their cups will be presented at the dinner dance on Saturday 22nd November. Also the Silver Medal and Silver Spoon will be presented to Elaine Hamilton our 2014 Golfer of the Year, the Bronze Medal to Teresa Fitzpatrick, Par Pyramid to Noeleen McCague and the birdie tree also to Elaine Hamilton. Supper will be provided by the ladies committee and a few chosen bakers! So please come along all lady members and we will have a great night.
Week 4 completed and a whowza of a 23 points from Roberta Hamilton (she had 11 points after 3 holes!) was the talk of the clubhouse last Sunday week. Well done Roberta!! Team 3 are leading on 195 with scores from Geraldine Fitzpatrick 18, Teresa Hanawin 14 and Lady Captain Brid Finlay 17 (49). Just 1 point behind are Team 4 on 194 with scores from Celeste McKiernan 16, Noeleen McCague 17 and Rosita McCabe 18 (51). Team 1 are in 3rd spot on 190 with scores from Roberta Hamilton 23, and 16 from both Vera Tighe and Teresa Fitzpatrick (55). Team 2 are on 179 in 4th place with scores from Veronica McGorman 15, Una O’Reilly 15 and Mary O’Toole 14 (44). Team 5, the strongest team of all, well they are holding all the others up in the table!! Still in 5th place with 172 with scores from Doli Maguire 17, Mary Trant 16 and Kathleen McCabe Gibbons 9 (42). Keep going ladies only 3 weeks to go.
The ladies club will be decorating the clubhouse on Friday 5th of December at 8pm so come along and help our new Lady Captain and her freshly elected committee to decorate and felicitate the clubhouse!
Ladies Party Night
The ladies club will hold their party night with the presentation of the Christmas Hampers on Friday 12th of December at 8pm with professional catering compliments of the ladies club. Put in in your diaries ladies!
The letters drawn on 10th of November were FMCQ and there were no winners of the 2,000 jackpot which now rolls over to 2,100. The 5 lucky dippers each winning 20 were Mary Smyth Lisnaskea, Paul Rhodes Smithboro, Kathleen Quigley Gortnana, Veronica Vaughan Lisnaskea and Brian McGorman Newbliss. Well done to them.
Preparations are well underway for this year’s Captains Celebration night at the Creighton Hotel on Saturday 22nd November where the match play cups will be presented. Please can all holders of match play cups return them to the clubhouse as soon as possible. Thank you.
The weather wasn’t that kind to us last week however many ladies braved the elements for their teams and their efforts are to be applauded. Team 3 are leading on 146 with scores from Ann McCarthy 18, Lady Captain Brid 16 and Claire McCaffrey 14. Team 4 are only 3 points back in 2nd with 143 well done to Noeleen McCague 15, Catherine Farrell 18 and a whopping 19 from Rosita McCabe who played on Saturday morning in the freezing, pouring rain! Teams 1 and 2 are joint 3rd on 135 with scores from Teresa Fitzpatrick 14, Roberta Hamilton 17 and Vera Tighe 13 for team 1 and a humdinger of a 20 points from Veronica McGorman, Una O’Reilly 14 and 15 from Mary O’Toole for Team 2. Team 5, who thought they were a lost cause are now only 5 points behind the filed on 130 with scores from Mary Trant 18, Kathleen Leonard 16 and Doli Maguire 15. So never give up till the end!!

The ladies Annual General Meeting takes place on Sunday 30th of November at 3pm sharp and all proposals must be with Madam Secretary Eileen Kerr 14 days prior. The Men’s Club AGM takes place the same day at 6pm sharp and again all proposals should be with Kevin Hickey secretary prior to that date.
The men are competing in a 14 hole repeater with categories to try and win some Christmas meat vouchers. €5 to play and €3 to repeat.
