Week 4 is now well underway and the excitement that the week 3 scores evoked is palpable! 2 teams now share the lead with the 3rd placed team only 1 point behind! Great stuff. So now down to the nitty gritty. Continue reading
This will seem a long way in the future BUT if you are interested in playing for the club in the All Ireland Mixed Qualifier please let Mary Trant know. It’s at Cavan Golf Club on Sunday 18th May probably an early tee time. So Ladies and Gents we need 5 ladies and 5 men who play as couples, stroke play with half their combined handicap. That’s it! The 4 clubs with the lowest net scores (4 of the 5 cards) qualify!
The letters drawn on 24th February were JUIG and there were no winners of the 3,000 jackpot. The 5 lucky dippers each winning 20 were Lesley McConkey C/O Club, Tony Fitzpatrick Ture, Jimmy McQuaid Clones, Leo McCrystal Dublin and Teresa Fitzpatrick Ture. The monthly sellers’ prize of €100 went to Charlie Browne.
If you play on Saturday or Sunday you MUST be on the timesheet. It’s only polite! Thank you
Lady Captain Brid Finlay and Captain Paul Jenkins officially started their tenure on Saturday last in the company of club members, family and friends. Even the strong cross wind on the 1st hole did not stop both Captains from hitting the green with their Drives. Continue reading
As we all know we have two fabulous course technicians in Hugh John and Finbar and it’s not very often that they make a request of the players. They are doing a mighty job keeping the course in such tip top nick so that we can play all year round. However, despite new buggy paths being installed to keep the buggies away from the softer parts of the course, and “no go” fences being put in to re-route buggies, some buggy drivers are still driving up to the side of the greens and/or up the middle of the fairways damaging the areas. So please, if you are using a buggy, stick to the gravel pathways and drive around the re-routing fencing, otherwise we may have to consider the suspension of buggy use. Moan over.
The Homepatrick Cup V Par Competition commences this Saturday 1st and is operational for the month of March.
Its that man again – Paddy Kerr – who had a hole in 1 on Monday last while playing in the Spring League Competition. Cannot hold a good man back, I understand the Handicap Secretary is taking note. Well done Paddy.
The Winner of week 2 of the Spring League Competition was George Hamilton with a great score of 38pts.
