New Lady Captain

The ladies Annual General Meeting held last Sunday and produced the usual comprehensive review of the tenure of the outgoing Lady Captain Collette McCahery by Secretary Mary Trant followed by her Secretary’s report and the detailed report from the Treasurer Mary O’Toole. There was discussion about increasing the matchplay cup entry to €10 to ensure the cost of prizes is covered. Collette thanked her committee for their support and hard work and also made mention of the volunteers who contribute so much to the running of the club. The outgoing Lady Captain thanked all the sponsors for their generous donations throughout the year. The transfer of office was made to the incoming Lady Captain Bridie Keenan. The committee were duly elected and are: ex officio Collette McCahery who will also take on the role of Secretary, Treasurer Mary O’Toole, Competition Secretary/Handicap Secretary Roberta Hamilton & PRO Mary Trant (not on committee) and the elected members are Joy Cassidy, Brid Finlay, Paula Jenkins,  Anne McCarthy, Catherine Farrell, Teresa Hanawin, There was one Motion brought forward by Eileen Kerr which was overturned however the ladies club are to approach the Management Committee to seek a different week day competition day.  Lady Captain Bridie gave the meeting some dates for the diary. Christmas decorations up Friday 6th December at 8pm. Management AGM Sunday 8th December at 5pm, Presentation of prizes and Hampers and Christmas party night Thursday 12th December at 8pm. Lady Captains weekend away 3rd to 5th of April and Lady captain’s Day 18th July 2020. The meeting was brought to a close by Lady Captain Bridie who offered her condolences for anyone bereaved during the year and wished everyone a successful and enjoyable coming year.
