Lady Prize Winners
The Captain’s Prize to the Ladies was won by Helen Connolly, 2nd Catherine Farrell, Gross Rosita McCabe. Congratulations to all the winners. A special thank you to the Captain and Rosita for providing us with eatables on completion of our round of golf and also to the wonderful ladies committee who supplied us with teas/coffees and a wide range of confectionary etc. to choose from on our arrival at the Clubhouse.
Ladies Last GOY
Captain Pat McCabe’s prize to the ladies is on Thursday 23rd of August and is a stroke Medal DRAW and is the last Golfer of the Year for 2018.
Captain’s Day is on Saturday 1st of September and Lady Captain Brid Finlay and the ladies club wish Captain Pat McCabe a very successful day.
Captains Day (Mr. Paddy McKeown) takes place on Saturday 3rd September, a time sheet for your preferred time slot is now posted in the locker, a draw for playing partners will follow.
The Captain (Mr Gerard Kelly) Centenary Year Captain’s Prize takes place on Saturday next 24th, a draw has being made for playing partners and is now posted in the Clubrooms. Presentation of prizes followed by entertainment takes place on the night and all members are asked to attend to honour the Captain. Presentation of prizes commences at 9.30 sharp
Mr Gerard Kelly’s Captain’s Prize to the ladies was contested in mostly beautiful sunshine for the majority of players. Unfortunately the later starters experienced less than favourable conditions with heavy rain and poor light. Everyone agreed that the set up of the course was particularly challenging with the CSS at 76. A large field contested this particular GOY stroke in honour of Gerard. The winner with a nett 76 was Doli
Maguire, 2nd place Noeleen McCague net 77 and the gross was claimed
by Lady Captain Roisin Kerr 95.
There were major worries about the weather last Saturday for Sean Bonner’s Captain’s Prize however they were largely unfounded and his years with Met Eireann were rewarded with a dry day! Continue reading
