The ladies Club party night was a great success which included the presentation of the Winter League Christmas hampers. The Bronze Medal was won by Bridie Keenan, Silver Medal won by Elaine Hamilton and the ILGU Silver Spoon went to Mary Trant. But the fun didn’t start until about 10pm when our Captain Georgie sang his own version of the Beatles “let it be”. Some games followed, reports are still coming in of sore jaws from all the laughing, so we’re considering it a successful night. Congrats to our new Lady Captain Collette McCahery on her first official duty, and thanks to Geraldine for the food, and to Brid for purchasing and putting together the beautiful prizes for the league. And not forgetting our most obliging barman Michael Connolly… sorry for keeping you out late Happy Christmas to all from the ladies club!
The Christmas tree and trimmings will be put up in the clubhouse on Thursday 7th of December so come along and give a hand around 8pm. To the ladies who paid and played in all conditions, you will be delighted to learn that over €1,040.00 was taken in. Once we’ve deducted the prize costs that’s going to the club! Thank you to the ladies who brought nibbles and foosies which made up the wonderful banquet of goodies and to everyone who was able to come along and enjoy the party night. Hopefully Lady Captain Teresa will be putting up the list for the Spring League shortly!!
The ladies Winter League is now in its 6th week of 7 and some great scores are being carded for the 9 holes. Well done ladies. The new organiser, Teresa Hanawin has requested that the scores be kept secret until the presentation for the last few weeks to make it more exciting! So just keep doing what you are doing ladies!
