Brid Finlay’s Lady Captain’s Day was last Saturday and the weather was atrocious! The ladies played in extremely wet conditions and high winds and most thought that the winning score wouldn’t be up to much. How wrong we were! The winner playing off 9 had 9 pars in her round and carded a magnificent nett 72! Well done Roisin Kerr a very talented golfer. Roberta Hamilton was second with nett 75 and the Gross went to Elaine Hamilton with 89. Section A (0-21) Mary Trant, Section B (22-28) Teresa Hanawin and Section C (29-36) Lady Vice-Captain Collette McCahery. Front 9 Helen Connolly and back 9 Anne McCarthy. Past Lady Captain Geraldine Fitzpatrick and Committee prize Eileen Kerr. The novice prize was won by Stella Mulligan who thanked Joy Cassidy in her speech for her encouragement and tuition. Nearest the pin went to Geraldine Fitzpatrick for the 2nd hole and to Rosita McCabe for the 10th hole. The Visitors prizes went to James Murphy, Eithne McAviney and Moira O’Brien and the men’s 14 hole stableford was won by Bernard McAviney 36 c/b and in 2nd was Brendan Bell also 36. The display of prizes were magnificent and all eyes were on the Tiffany bracelet which Roisin Kerr was delighted to receive.
Congratulations to Sinead O’Flynn who won the 9 hole Novice competition last week. Well done to everyone taking part
