The final outing of the Christmas eclectic competition takes place on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th (postponed for a week due to inclement weather) and already the tension and the excitement is mounting. As we enter the final day Fr. Jerry White on 42 points has a slender advantage over Brian Curran on 41 with two seasoned campaigners, George Crowe and Paddy McKeown lurking in third position with 40.
Of course those are not the only ones in contention because, as Micky Connolly has shown in the past, someone may emerge from the pack and return a fantastic score on Wednesday to claim the top prize. There are at least fifteen players still in with a chance which makes the final day so enthralling.
Prizes will be presented on Wednesday 14th evening and it is hoped that as many as possible will attend to enjoy some light refreshments and share their “only if” and “ but for“ hard luck stories. Everyone is asked to return completed card on the day as there is a daily prize and more importantly those cards will determine the placings in the event of ties. There are ten prizes in all.
